Seattle City Council passes new tenant protections

Seattle City Council passed two new tenant protection ordinances at its May 12 meeting.

The first ordinance, cosponsored by Tammy Morales and Kshama Sawant, prohibits landlords from using a rental applicant's eviction history during the period of COVID-19 lockdown to deny the individual a rental.
