Joan Diane McDougle Reeves, 1933 - 2008.
Jonnie Reeves was born in Queens, N.Y. She died at home with loved ones at the age of 75 after a bout with bone cancer.

Jonnie was an earth angel. She enjoyed life and being a patriotic American. She joined the Army as a young woman and was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign War Ladies Auxiliary for more than 17 years.

Jonnie believed in God and loved helping people as a volunteer firefighter, a veterinarian's assistant, a food bank operator and by sharing her home with the less fortunate.

Jonnie was well-liked and loved by many people who respected her most for her honesty and loyalty. To Jonnie, her word was her honor.

She enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others and was always busy with something like baking, cooking, fishing, hunting, camping, sports as a participant and a fan, or a good game of poker or pool.

Jonnie also loved music and she loved dancing. She also rode her Harley Davidson with a passion.

She was a jack-of-all-trades, from police officer to restaurant owner, bartender to farmer.

Jonnie was preceded in death by her son Victor and grandson Freebie.

She leaves behind her life partner Patty Aarskaug; son Vincent and daughter-in-law Anna; Victor's wife Sue; her grandchildren Boogie, Ricki, Travis, Ashley, Gary, Kirk, Rosie, Tony, Chris and Brittany; many great-grandchildren and goddaughter Audrey, nephew Stephen, niece Cynthia; her beloved dog Barbara-Anne and her many friends and wonderful neighbors.

Jonnie also leaves her extended family of adopted grandkids behind including Matt, Megan, Olga, James and many more.

Special thanks to Jonnie's great team of caregivers and nurses: Jacky, Jerri, Janet, Maria, Diane, Barb, Pam, P.C., Judy, Joan, Catherine and Vinny.

There will be a memorial service and potluck for Jonnie at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13 at Freeland Park.
