Lusting (still) for a certain officer and anxiously awaiting 'army sweetie'
by Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid - SGN A&E Writer

That song, "Just Another Manic Monday," is playing in my head as I write this, and prepare to end the day with my workout. Honey, this one plans to be hella gawgeous when "army sweetie" returns from Iraq (hopefully by the early Spring). Saw a movie (Jumper) that was okay, but certainly didn't compete with the delish dream this one was having about a certain officer of the law when my little cell phone clock went off today. We have been using the cell for an alarm clock since the other clock radio was fried in the December storm from two years ago, when the power came back on (finally!) in my building. So looking forward to purchasing a real clock radio in the very near future.

And along with lusting for a certain SPD officer, this one has also been smiling at a couple of femmes, who actually smiled back, on the Hill of late. One, this yummy redhead on the bus, almost made me miss my stop about a week ago! Hey, I've always had a soft spot for redheaded women and blonde dudes, what can I say? Also, the new batch of folks who answered my latest Craigslist ad yielded a couple of interesting prospects, including a very cute soldier who this one is just dying to meet. Very soon, I hope! Also chatting up another person, who also lives south (aren't all the best folks living out of Seattle these days, dahling?), and another soldier, too. Just can't stop loving those military types, ya know?

Also, my little rant of the day. Folks, we know the buses are crowded, and thanks for being smarter than those idiots driving big honking SUVs - with one person per car, mind you - but hey, a little reminder: Bathing is no longer considered evil among civilized folks and covering your cough isn't just polite, it's practically the law. I mean, this one has had two freaking colds, some of which got started (I think) by folks who didn't seem to realize that germs are spread when they spew stuff all over the place by not keeping their coughs covered. So, cover your damned coughs and stop being little Typhoid Maries, okay? 'Kay. And, drivers, please, please, realize that folks walking have the right of way, and pay more attention to us than your damned cell phone. There, I feel better now.

So, besides loving the new Josh Morrison song "Home" (always makes me think of what "army sweetie" might be thinking on the return trip stateside), as well as selections from the new Wu Tang Clan and Cancer Rising records, what else has this one tried and loved? Well, I highly recommend you try Wet 'n' Wild's Ultimate Minerals loose powder. In a variety of shades, and at a price that will have you cheering, this stuff looks as good as the more expensive variety, and feels good on, too. You can pick this up at Bartels. Then do also try The Body Shoppe's 'apanese Cherry Blossom body wash (which is great when teamed up with the body butter of the same name). Just too delicious, and hey, you can share your shower, like me and "army sweetie" did after the second date, and a night this one will never forget. Also, try Emilio Pucci's newest scent, Vivara, which is light, but very seductive. Should get someone a little closer, even after Valentine's Day (which I hope was great for all of you out there!).

So, that's it for now, my little budding crocuses, and do feel free to e-mail me at ijanaral@yahoo.com, and check out the blog of this column on bloggerspot.com. Also, to the KEXP DJ who had laryngitis a few weeks ago: Honey, try some Cold Tea, which you can pick up at Madison Market, and then do a baked lemon (you bake it, then eat the insides, throw away the peel, and voila, you're better!) a couple of times, and some ginger tea. You'll feel much better, trust me. Also, as per the divine Dr. Que, taking alternating hot/cold showers (first very hot, then cold, then hot, end with cold) will keep you well, and make whatever's left of a cold exit your system. Feel better, dude, and keep 'em spinning, 'cause this one loves your selection of beats. Oh, and how do you know a real friend? You go to a restaurant, there's an awkward situation over the bill, and she pays what you can't pay with her credit card, and agrees to let you pay her back when you can. Now that is the standard for a really good friend, not someone who kicks you out of their life because you couldn't make it to a party they threw for your birthday, knowing the time was all wrong, as was the day of the week she chose to throw it on. Ah, my little thorns that are Scorpios. Well, off to better this bod, and then home to my little meal experiment - I'm trying a new, made-up recipe, to see if it's going to be good for "army sweetie's" return-home dinner. Let you know how it turns out. Kisses, everyone, buhbye!
