The Center announces the 3rd Annual Fruit Bowl Awards
The Center announces the 3rd Annual Fruit Bowl Awards
The Seattle LGBT Community Center is pleased to announce the Third Annual Fruit Bowl Awards will be held on June 9th, 2006 from 5:30pm to 10pm at the Safeway building on the corner of Mercer and Broadway Ave. E.

The Fruit Bowl Awards is a fabulous community event to honor individuals and organizations in Seattle whom have made significant contributions to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender community. This year, emceed by the incomparable Aleksa Manila, the event mixes the noteworthy with the enjoyable and entertaining to demonstrate that we can do serious work and still have fun.

The Fruit Bowl Awards were designed and created to acknowledge their achievements, inspiration, leadership and commitment to our community. These annual awards are presented to outstanding individuals and groups who have made significant and lasting contributions in creating equality, access and services, appreciation and celebration of diversity, and cultivating a stronger society for LGBT community members. We are also please to have the always hilarious Peggy Platt as our Auctioneer Extraordinaire.

And this year our Guest of Honor is Ret. Col. Grethe Cammermeyer. We are honored to have Grethe at this event, and she will speak to our need as a community to 'come out and come together'.
